Founded in Malaga in 1876 and located in Tudela del Duero (Valladolid) since 1973, Bodegas Peñascal is one of Spain’s most successful winemaking projects, having built its reputation on the excellent quality of its wines.
The Barceló family founded its first winery in Malaga to make, age and commercialise aromatised, quinine-infused and sweet wines and vermouths, including the famed Sanson, which dates back to 1903.
The wine company Hijos de Antonio Barceló acquired Bodegas Peñascal located in Tudela de Duero, in the province of Valladolid, a leading winery in the production of rosé wines, broadening its portfolio with dry and off-dry white, rosé and red wines, specialising in semi-sparkling wines.
Bodegas Peñascal opened new facilities in the locality of Laguna de Duero, with a focus on innovation and excellence in winemaking.
Bodegas Peñascal is part of the Entrecanales Domecq e Hijos group, one of Spain’s most important wine companies, with more than 125 years of experience in the production and ageing of high quality wines that are widely distributed both within Spain and across the world.
